About Tattoo Removal
Unwanted dark and multi-coloured tattoos can be safely and effectively eliminated with Alma’s range of tattoo removal treatments.
Successful multi-colour tattoo removal requires a high powered laser that can deliver enough energy within the absorption spectrum of a wide range of colours.
The high power Q-Switched Nd:YAG 1064 nm laser is ideal for treating darker ink colours (black, blue and green), while the 532 nm wavelength is effective for brighter ink colours (red, orange and yellow). The mechanical Q-Switched effect works by vibrating and breaking down the ink particles in the tattoo. As the area heals, the body’s immune system flushes away the shattered ink particles, causing the tattoo to fade with minimal risk of scarring or hypopigmentation.

Is laser tattoo removal safe?
Yes, the treatment is safe and effective for even thin and delicate areas of the skin such as the face, neck and décolleté areas.
While most laser procedures produce a thermal effect to stimulate collagen renewal, our Harmony ClearLift laser uses a specially designed fractional Q-Switched laser to achieve a deep mechanical effect, focusing the energy beneath the epidermis. This creates a controlled dermal wound while leaving the epidermis intact.
The wound healing process stimulates the growth of new collagen as well as contracture and tightening of the tissue. The treatment is a ‘lunchtime procedure’ that is virtually painless with no downtime, no need for pre-treatment anaesthetic and is safe for all skin types (I-VI).

Harmony XL PRO: The High Power Q-Switched 1064/532nm Module on the Harmony XL PRO produces significantly higher power output than other aesthetic medical laser devices. High Power Q-Switched module delivers double the amount of energy by way of multiple pulses. Unlike single pulse devices, it achieves How Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work?
Every colour of ink requires a different wavelength of light and amount of energy to be efficiently removed.
ClearLift is a high-powered Q-switched laser that can operate 2 different wavelengths to be effective with darker colours, brighter colours like red and orange.
The treatment breaks down the ink particles without causing damage to the skin. This is achieved by a Photo-Acoustic effect created by the impact of the laser energy delivered with very short pulses to the targeted ink. Over time, your body’s natural healing processes (the lymphatic system) removes the ink fragments from your body. This allows your tattoo to fade with only minimal risks of scarring or skin discolouration.

How many treatments are required to remove a tattoo?
That depends on the size, age and location of the tattoo. Some large tattoos are so big they can’t be covered in one session, thus requiring more appointments.
